Stepping out for a prestigious honor, Shailene Woodley took to the red carpet before the Virtuosos Award Tribute at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California on Friday (February 3). The “Descendants” actress joined alongside Producer Jim Burke while readying to receive her trophy at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival held event. As for the Virtuosos accolade, it’s “an award given to multiple up-and-coming actors for achieving a breakthrough performance.” With Rooney Mara, Melissa McCarthy, Patton Oswalt, Andy Serkis and Demián Bichir among the other honorees, SBIFF director Roger Durling said of the 2012 crop, “I’m ecstatic about this strong line-up of Virtuosos.

Despite initial reports that Lily Collins would take the part, Jane Levy is said to be in talks for the lead role in the upcoming “Evil Dead” remake. According to Deadline, the “Suburgatory” star will act as a replacement to “Mirror, Mirror” actress Collins, who was forced to drop out of the Fede Alvarez-directed film due to scheduling conflicts. The report adds that Jane will play the part of Mia, originally fronted by Bruce Campbell, who is described as “one of five young people who head to the remote cabin where evil awaits.” As for the film itself, production is scheduled to get underway in New Zealand sometime in the near future, with hopes for an April 12, 2013 theatrical debut.
